NSSLHA Website

Join NSSLHA today!  NSSLHA is the National Student Speech, Language and Hearing Association.  It is a branch of ASHA and membership in the group offers many advantages.  Here's a list of all the benefits of a NSSLHA membership:

  • Members receive two issues of Contemporary Issues in Communication Science and Disorders (CICSD), a NSSLHA publication.

  • Members receive three issues of NSSLHA's newsletter, NSSLHA Now!

  • Members receive a print subscription to the ASHA Leader. The online versions of the ASHA Leader is available on the ASHA Web site.

  • Members receive a print subscription to one of the following ASHA journals: American Journal of Audiology; American Journal of Speech Language Pathology; Journal of Speech, Language, and Hearing Research; or Language, Speech, and Hearing Services in Schools.

    Read Abstract from the ASHA journal. The online version of the ASHA journals is available on the ASHA Web site.

  • Members receive access to the "members only" areas of the NSSLHA and ASHA Web sites, which include all ASHA journals, NSSLHA Member Forums, "In the Loop" — NSSLHA's monthly e-mail announcement service, and convenient membership dues renewal.

  • Members receive a reduced registration fee for the ASHA convention. Read ASHA Convention Information to learn more.   New members may register for the ASHA Convention AND JOIN NSSLHA online. Visit the ASHA Convention Web page for more information.

  • Members are eligible for a discounted Associate Affiliate membership in ASHA's Special Interest Divisions.

  • Members Discounts on the purchase or lease of a new car from Subaru of America.

  • Members receive discounts on ASHA or NSSLHA products and publications.

  • Members receive technical assistance and resources from ASHA. ASHA staff can help students get information. To receive Technical Assistance, call the Action Center at 1-800-498-2071

  • Members receive a reduced rate to access The Dome, a search engine specifically developed for Communication Sciences Disorders professionals, enables you to identify journal articles, text books, dissertations and researchers that are relevant to your search.

  • Members are eligible for the NSSLHA to ASHA Conversion Program Discount, which represents a significant savings on dues and fees for your first year of ASHA membership and certification.

Great!  How do I apply?

  • Download a membership brochure and application. Mail the application with payment to NSSLHA, 10801 Rockville Pike, Rockville, MD  20852.

  • Call the Action Center at 800-498-2071 and apply for membership over the telephone with a major credit card (Visa or Mastercard only!)

  • Visit CoDA and complete an application.
